Counter-Narratives Micro-Content

As part of the SMIDGE project’s counter-narrative work, 27 pieces of micro-content have been produced, including image memes and a GIF, addressing the role of memetic culture in the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories online.

Informed by findings from previous work packages, surveys, and focus groups, this content translates theoretical and empirical research into accessible visual communication. At the same time, it reflects the challenge of balancing the playful and ambiguous nature of memes with the need for inclusive and effective counter-messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
